SOME IMPORTANT CASES OF 2016 & SUCCESSFUL INVESTIGATION BY POLICE

ECONOMIC OFFENCE WING, BHUBANESWAR:-

1) EOW PS Case No.11 Dt. 30.05.16 U/s 420/467/468/471/120-B IPC.

This case was registered on the report of one DySP, EOW, who was entrusted to enquire into financial mismanagement and irregularity in Dhenkanal Urban Co-Operative Bank which was referred by the Government. The allegations pertains to fraudulent sanction of loan to different loanees without proper documentation / security and guarantor resulting huge loss to the tune of Rs.3,63,46,538/-. In this case 12 accused persons have been arrested and forwarded to Court.


2) EOW PS Case No.17 Dt. 28.09.2016 u/s 467/468/471/406/420/120-B IPC r/w sec.6 of Odisha Protection of Interests of Depositors ( in Financial Establishments) Act.2011.

This case was registered on the report of Sri SubhranshuSekharSenapati against the Managing Director and others of M/s Seven Hills Estates Ltd. And M/s Lingaraj Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. for reselling the land which was earlier sold to them and others. In this case 3 accused persons have been arrested and forwarded to Court .The case has been charge sheeted.


SPECIAL TASK FORCE, BHUBANESWAR:-

3) STF PS Case No.1 Dt..05.01.2016 U/s 419/420/468/471/506/326/120(B) r.w. 18/19/20 Transplantation of Human Organ & Tissue Act 1994.

This case was registered vide Bargarh town P.S. case No.3/16 regarding illegal transplantation of Kidney to another person in the month of October, 2013. This case was taken over by STF and one DSP took investigating into on dt.05.01.2016. One accused was forwarded to the Court and another was bailed out on health ground.


4) STF PS Case No.2 Dt.17.02.2016 U/s 147/148/120(B)/121/121(A)/122/307/467/471/149 IPC/25/27 Arms Act /18/20 UA(P) Act, 1967.

After receiving credible information Plantsite police team with witnesses conducted raid in the alleged house. During raid the suspects opened firing at police but none of the police personnel were injured at the end five persons including one lady were caught. On verification those persons were found to be active members of SIMI (a banned terrorist organization) . They were also involved in several bank dacoities and terrorist activities. They were found liable u/s 147/ 148/120(B)/ 121/121(A)/122/ 307/ 467/471/ 149 IPC /25/27 Arms Act/18/20 UA(P) Act, 1967. Hence Plant Site PS case No.38 dt. 17.2.2016 was registered . This case was taken over by STF and one DSP is investigating into. The five terrorists were arrested and forwarded to Court. The case has been charge sheeted.


5) STF PS Case No.3 Dt.25.02.2016 U/s 17/18/18(B)/20 UA(P) Act, 1967.

This case was registered on the Plain paper F.I.R. by IIC, Jagatpur PS . After receiving credible information he enquired and found that one person is actively associated with terrorist organization like Al-Quaida, Indian Mujahiddin. On 15.12.2015 night in connection with Special cell, Lodhi Colony, Delhi case No.67 dt. 14.12.2015 u/s 18/18(B)/20 UA(P) Act/ the accused was arrested by Delhi Police and taken to their custody. He was found liable u/s 17/18/18(B)/ 20 UA(P) Act, 1967 . Hence Jagatpur PS case No.244 dt.17.12.2015 was registered. This case was taken over by STF and one DSP is investigating into. The case has been charge sheeted.


6) STF PS Case No.4 Dt.17.03.2016 U/s 14 of The Foreigners Act.1946.

This case has been registered on the written report of one Inspr. of Police,EOW, Bhubaneswar. After receiving credible information he enquired and found that one Bangladeshi national had unlawfully entered into India without any passport / visa in a clandestine manner and was staying illegally at Musadiha, PS- Paradip under Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha. After registration, the investigation was taken over by STF. As the accused was found liable u/s 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 he was arrested and forwarded to Court.


7) STF PS Case No.7 Dt.11.09.2016 U/s 20(b) (ii) (c) NDPS Act, 1985.

This case was registered on the written report of one DSP of STF PS Bhubaneswar. After receiving credible information he along with STF team, Executive Magistrate and witnesses conducted raid in the alleged residential house on 11.9.2016 at 5.30 AM. During search contraband ganja (440 Kg. 200 gm) in 24 plastic gunny bags was found from the house of accused. During course of investigation two accused persons were arrested on and forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge, Phulbani.The case has been charge sheeted.


BHADRAK DISTRICT:-

8) Basudevpur PS Case No. 374 Dt. 05.10.16 U/s 457/302/294/506/394/34 IPC/ 25 (1)(a)/27 Arms Act 1959.

On 05.10.16 evening while the complt, was going outside from his shop and his younger brother was sitting in front of the Jewellery shop. At that time two un-known culprits came by a motor cycle and fired on his younger brother, forcibly entered in to the jewellery shop and took away gold ornaments breaking the glass show case. When complaint tried to rescue his younger brother, one of the culprit threatened to kill him. At that time another culprit opened fire on the road. Out of fear the complaint fled away from the spot, when both the culprits took away about 100 grams gold ornaments and decamped towards Bhadrak side. The injured was shifted to DistrictHeadquarter Hospital ,Bhadrak and during treatment he expired. During course of investigation, I.O. arrested two accused persons and seized one hand made revolver (6 round) with 5 nos. of live bullets, two nos. of gold chains and two nos.ofpendy (ear ring) from the possession of the accused persons and forwarded them to the Court. The case is under investigation.


9) Bhadrak Town PS Case No. 205 Dt.14.07.16 U/s 376(2)(ii)/302 IPC read with Section 6 POCSO Act 2012.

On 11.07.16 evening one minor girl while playing in MathaPadia missed away.On dt.12.07.2016 ,1PM the dead body of missed girl was found floating in SunamunhiNala of Mathasahi. On the written report of the uncle of deceased minor girl UD case vide No. 47/16 was registered at Bhadrak town PS. Father of deceased minor girl alleged that somebody after committing rape and murder of his daughter had thrown away the dead body in SunamunhiNala. Accordingly Bhadrak Town PS Case No. 205 dt.14.07.2016 U/S 376(ii)(B)/302 IPS/6 POSCO Act 2012 was registered & IIC took charge of investigation of case. During course of investigation the I.O. took all sincere steps for detection of the case. As prima facie case made out against the accused, he was arrested and forwarded to court. The case has been charge sheeted.


MAYURBHANJ DISTRICT:-

10) Baripada Sadar PS Case No.33 Dt.22.03.2016 U/s 395 IPC /25/27 Arms Act.

On 22.03.2016 at 04.05 PM complt., presented a written report before IIC and alleging therein that on 22.03.2016 in between 02.10 PM and 02.15 PM, while he was counting cash inside Hota Gas Godown, Goudadiha, suddenly 6 unknown persons came there and asked for new gas connection. In the mean while, out of them one person shown pistol aiming at his head. When he tried to save himself, the accused persons assaulted his nose, for which he sustained bleeding injuries on his person. They also snatched away one black colourPulsur Motor Cycle, cash of Rs.2,50,000/-, one Nokia Mobile, Axis Bank ATM card, Pan and other documents. During investigation, five accused persons, all of Dist. Mayurbhanj have been arrested and forwarded to court. The case has been charge sheeted.


SUNDARGARH DISTRICT:-

11) Biramitrapur PS Case No.155 Dt.17.09.2016 U/s 121/121-A/122/123/341/353/307/506/120-B IPC R/W Sec.25/27 Arms Act/ 9(B) I.E. Act/7 CRL.L.A Act (SR 238/2016).

On 17.9.2016 at 9 AM received reliable information from sources about congregation of PLFI(Peoples Liberation Form of India) cadres numbering about 15 in the house of local GramaRakshi at Village- Khukhundubahal under Biramitrapur PS limit being armed with sophisticated fire arms, explosives with intent to wage war against the Govt. of India They were also designing to cause extensive devastative activities like blowing up of the Central Govt. Vital installations like local BSNL mobile towers at peripheral areas etc. and to kill the crew members on duty, in order to paralyze the communication system of the Govt. In order to curb such anti-national and subversive activities by such anti-national elements, on 17.9.2016 at 9.15 PM Biramitrapur police with the assistance of near by Police Stations staff conducted raid on the house of the GramaRakhi. During raid, the criminals of PLFI threatened the police party to kill by way of opening fire at them and persuaded decamping of police from the spot and finally mounted murderous attempt on the police party. Taking advantage of the hue and cry at the spot, 12 to 13 PLFI cadres managed to slip away from the spot with fire arms and three of them were nabbed by Police and recovered 8 nos. of Rifles , 41 rounds 8 mm live ammunitions and 9 mm cartridges with gelotin explosive in two packets total weighing 11 Kgs. & 300 grams, one Mobile phone and one Motorcycle. The case has been charge sheeted.


12) Sundargarh Town PS Case No.184 Dt.22.10.2016 U/s 363 IPC turned to U/s 366/376(2)(i)/302/201 IPC/6 PCSO Act.

On 22.10.2016 at 1.40 PM, the complainant reported at PS to the effect that, on 21.10.2016 night at 11.00 PM one unknown person kidnapped her daughter, aged about four years from her house. On this report this case was registered and investigated. During course of investigation, it is revealed that, the accused kidnapped the victim girl on 21.10.2016 at about 11 PM from her house and committed rape and murder in side a nearby newly constructed building. As such this case turned to u/s 366/376(2)(i)/302/201 IPC/6 POCSO Act. During course of investigation the I.O. arrested the accused and forwarded to court. The case has been charge sheeted.
