Odisha Swift Action Force (OSAF), is a specialized force raised to deal with Communal riots, serious law and order situations, religious festivals and
large scale Police arrangements.
A special wing of police, Odisha Swift Action Force (OSAF), was launched by Sj.Naveen Pattnaik Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha on 23rd June, 2017.

The State Government often depends on the Centre for deployment of Rapid Action Force for maintenance of serious law and order situation.
Odisha Swift Action Force would serve the purpose of its formation by intervening in crisis situation in the quickest possible time.

They have been trained on the lines of Rapid Action Force (RAF) at the RAF Academy, Meerut, UP.
